You may have seen this statement and wonder why we use the comma logo. What exactly does it mean?
In the United Church of Christ we believe that God always has more to say to us and we are willing to listen. Or in the words of John Robinson, a 17th century pastor to the Pilgrims, “There is more truth and light yet to break forth from God's holy word.”
The comma is an identity proclamation of the United Church of Christ. It is the way we spread our message of extravagant welcome. We believe that no one should feel excluded or unwelcome anywhere, especially at church.
Throughout our history, we believe God has challenged us and continues to speak to us to welcome and affirm all as God’s children.
So, if you have ever felt lost or alienated from past experiences with church or even if you have never been to church before, we invite you to check us out.
In the United Church of Christ and here at the Venice United Church of Christ, we believe that,
