As many of you know, our own Robin LaBolt graduated with honors and a Master of Divinty degree from Eden Theological Seminary. She has now been called to serve as the new pastor at the Sycamore United Church of Christ in Sycamore, Ohio.
An Ecclestiastical Council of the Florida Conference UCC took place at the St. Andrew United Church of Christ in Sarasota on Thursday evening July 16. A detailed examination resulted in a unanimous vote in favor of her proceeding for Ordination.
A Service of Ordination for Robin was held on July 19, 2009. In a service of worship surrounded by family, friends and other ordained ministers, Robin made a commitment to serve the church, share the gospel, pray regularly, search and share the scriptures and lead a compassionate, truthful and loving life of devotion through the church. Then by prayer and the laying on of hands, Robin was ordained.
The Rev. Robin LaBolt was presented a gift of a Liturgical Robe by the Venice UCC Congregation. She also received a set of liturgical stoles made in Guatemala from Rev. Keran and Paul Olm-Stoelting and Rev. Don Wilson. Immediately following was a reception in Naar Hall.
The congregation of Venice United Church of Christ is very proud of Robin and of the support and commitment of her family.
